Why the novel? Gender activism and decolonialpedagogy through literature

Please join us for a panel discussion reflecting on creative writing and
literary representation as a space for political and pedagogical change.
Local authors who have written about gender and sexual injustices will
dialogue with participants in thinking through questions about literature as
feminist decolonial scholarship, pedagogy and activism. Panelists include
Barbara Boswell, author of Grace – a novel (Modjadji, 2017); Jade Gibson,
author of Glowfly Dance (Umuzi Press, 2015); and Kharnita Mohamed,
author of Called to Song (Kwela Press, 2018).
